Official figures show the Competition Commission of India handled 54 antitrust matters and 149 merger filings in 2025, highlighting an increasingly active and modernised competition enforcement framework.

The Supreme Court of India will hear Google's appeal against an NCLAT antitrust ruling concerning its Android ecosystem and Play Store billing practices. The CCI had previously fined Google for abusing its dominant position by mandating GPBS and unfairly promoting Google Pay. While NCLAT upheld core findings, it reduced penalties and questioned CCI's "ex-ante" directives.
